| CANBERRA
is Australia's federal capital and is one of only two artificially-conceived
capital cities in the world. Canberra houses the national parliament, federal
government departments, the High Court of Australia, the Australian War Memorial,
and several other important institutions. If the 'mall' between the War Memorial
and Parliament looks a little familiar, it is; it was designed by the same United
States architect responsible for the reflecting pool by the Washington Monument.
Natural parklands surround Canberra; a hot air balloon ride is a great way to
see and experience the magnificient sights of the area. |
